AVP of Finance

The AVP of Finance performs administrative level professional services involving the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines in designing, implementing, and evaluating Credit Union accounting systems and financial information. Applies advanced accounting skills to ensure the proper functioning and accountability of fiscal operations. Consults with senior managers, managers, and other organizational leaders to identify business needs, compliance, and reporting requirements. Supervises accounting personnel.

Requirements: The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, positive thinker with a strong member-centric philosophy, and a collaborative and inclusive style of management with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  We are seeking someone with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting (or significant Accounting coursework and work experience) and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience that demonstrates:

  • The ability to analyze and reconcile financial data and records for the purpose of financial planning;
  • Design, recommend and implement modifications to accounting products, methods, procedures, forms, and records;
  • Prepare financial statements and reports;
  • Interpret rules, regulations, printed documentation, and analyze complex accounts;
  • Ability to manage staff and multiple projects; and
  • Extensive knowledge of computerized accounting software and database products.
